Python questions in interviews are often an excuse to watch you think. The language is familiar. The differentiator is whether you can explain a choice and a check.
Data structures in plain language
Be ready to say why a list, a dict, or a set fit the problem you actually had. Mention the operation you did most: lookup, append, or a uniqueness check. You do not need a lecture on every collection type.
Complexity without theatre
If you discuss speed, tie it to an input you have seen or can imagine: a file of tens of thousands of rows, a loop inside a loop, a repeated scan. Avoid quoting big-O as a substitute for that picture. If you are unsure, say which part you would measure.
How you would test it
Name one ordinary case, one edge, and one failure: empty input, a duplicate key, a missing file. Interviewers listen for that habit even when they never ask you to open a test runner.
